The photo exhibitions at the Reggia

“Time around us”, this is the theme of the edition 2020 of Colorno PhotoLife, the festival dedicated to photography at the Reggia di Colorno from September t0 November 8.

At the piano nobile returns the photography with the pictures of significative artists from ther national and international scene; a great photographer from the Emilia region, Franco Fontana and his pictures of the Route 66 will be protagonists together with the English Michael Kenna with a new and unpublished project dedicated to the Po river.

In addition, in the halls of the wing facing the square, will be hosted a new project, curated by Centro Archivio e Comunicazione dell’Università di Parma, that is a tribute to the photographer from Milan Franco Vimercati, 19 years after his death.

The photo festival is now at its 11th edition and it’s organized by Circolo Fotografico Color’s Light and Antea. Projects and services for Culture and Tourism thatnks to the collaboration with Provincia di Parma, the sponsorship of Comune di Colorno and FIAF and the support of other important local and regional institutions.

The arcades of the Reggia, during the days of the festival and weekends later, will host an exhibition of the members of Color’s Light titled “A woman, Maria Luigia”. An investigation about the heritage left by the most loved woman in Parma, Maria Luigia d’Austria, exhibition curated by the art historian Eles Iotti.

Photo exhibitions and activities at MUPAC

Livio Senigalliesi, from September 13 to October 11 at Mupac of the Aranciaia, exhibits pictures from his “Side effects”. It’s a display of photos taken along two decades in four continents as a testimony and condemnation of the long “chemical war” period. Pictures taken close to people among grief, dangers, cold, hunger and escaping.

Also at the Aranciaia from September 13 to October 11 on display “Epiphanies: the other physic of landscape” by Tina Cosmai, who reflects about the post-human condition where a subject is in the middle of a reality surrounded by technology.

Raffaele Petralla, with his reportage “Cosmodrome” from October 16 to November 8 at the Aranciaia, takes visitors into the life of those whocollect and recycle the relics of Russian rockets that fall on the snowy tundra in Russia, at the border with the Arctic Circle.

“My land” is the name of the exhibition by Camilla Biella, that reveals – from October 16 to November 8 at the Aranciaia – the little old worls of the Pianura Padana, between the ancient via Emilia and the hills of Piacenza, with the daily rituals of the small rural villages.

In order to give expression to a lively photo culture, ColornoPhotoLife has the support of qualified collaborations, as the readers of the Competition Concorso a lettura di Portfolio Maria Luigia (a stop of Portfolio Italia (that will take place on October 17 and 18), the intense meetings with authors and protagonists of the Italian and the workshops. The latter see the participation of photographers and curators (Livio Senigalliesi – Loredana De Pace – Laura Manione), to give audience and photo lovers a wide learning choice.
