Located on the shores of river Po, the origins of Roccabianca can be probably found in the medieval village known as Rezinoldo or Arzinoldo, given as a feud by Frederick Barbarossa to the Pallavicino family in the 12th century.
The village of roman origins, has a monumental Rocca of the 15th century built by Pier Maria Rossi for the beloved Bianca Pellegrini. In front of the Rocca there’s the old market square, Piazza Minozzi, with an 18th century shape and surrounded by a porch gallery.
Near the Rocca can be found another square with a 16th century Church of Saints Bartolomeo and Michele.
A few chilometers from Roccabianca lies Fontanelle, a small village along a street of linden trees, known as the place where
Giovannino Guareschi was born, the writer and poet of the lowland, a land of heart and soul.
