The new station of Parma, based on a project of the spanish architect and city planner Oriol Bohigas, has opened in May 2016.
It is a two floor building with a mezzanine floor, a big underpass linking the south area to the north of the city through the boulevard Falcone e Borsellino. Buses, taxis and private vehicles may arrive at the station through the boulevard named before where a new ticket office is available at the mezzanine floor, reachable with escalators or lift.
The new railway station is totally accessible with no architectural barriers, tactile paths for blind people and every train platform is connected with lifts or stairs.
