How: by bike
When: from March to October
Time required: about 40 kms, one day
From Parma follow Via Langhirano and, getting to the roundabout near the University Campus, turn left into Strada Martinella. In the village Vigatto you can appreciate the Church of San Pietro, with its 18th and 19th-century paintings and, in front of the church, Villa Meli Lupi, a noble residence with a beautiful park.
Going on you will see some other noble houses, such as Palazzo Mutti, Villa Ghia, dating back to 16th century and, in Pannocchia, Villa Rognoni.
Going on straight, you will get to the Benedictin Abbey of Torrechiara. 1 km far, the majestic Castle, encircled by a medieval village, towers above the valley. From there you can enjoy the charming landscape.
Came back to Parma following the same itinerary.
