Food Valley Bike – Ciclovia da Parma a Busseto
It’s called Food Valley Bike and it is a cycle path about seventy kilometers long that connects Parma to Busseto, through the Terre Verdiane, passing through other Municipalities in the lower Parma area: Sorbolo Mezzani, Colorno, Sissa Trecasali, Roccabianca, Polesine Zibello; with the possibility of reaching Brescello in the Reggio area.
The flat route, which skirts the Po several times, is suitable for cyclists of all ages. In addition to the pleasure of cycling through the fields of the Parma lowlands, the Food Valley Bike itinerary will allow you to enhance the excellence represented by the typical products of the area: Parma ham; tomato and Parmesan from Sorbolo; Mezzani’s anolini; Colorno: Reggia di Colorno headquarters of the Alma, an international point of reference for the culinary world; Sissa Trecasali with the raw shoulder of Palasone; Cicciolata and ciccioli from Roccabianca and lastly Culatello from Polesine Zibello.
A digital guide, the Food Valley Bike App, will be available for cycle tourists. Using Google Maps, the guide, loaded onto your smartphone, will highlight not only the food and wine references, but also the places of cultural interest to visit and the refreshment and accommodation points for those who want to travel the seventy kilometers of the itinerary calmly, stopping for a few days in the Parma lowlands.
