The museum, opened in 2000 in the occasion of the Jubilee, treasures precious artifacts and founds and is divided into two branches: the first one is housed in annexes of the Bishop’s palace while the second can be found in the women’s gallery on the north side of the cathedral. More, famous Madonna col Bambino by Benedetto Antelami.

Pilgrims and great personalities, in fact, used to stop here on their way to or back from Rome to venerate the tomb of the martyr St. Domninus, leaving in the Cathedral splendid gifts.

Among them, rare objects for liturgy, piecies of furniture, vases and vestments, given by nobles, villagers, priests and bishops and making up the so-called treasure of St. Domninus.
