The profound redevelopment and enhancement of the monumental complex of San Paolo has been underway since 2015 and, after the restoration of the bell tower of the former monastery, the works on the Cloister of the Fountain and the rooms that surround it have finally been completed.

These spaces host the Parma Open Laboratory, dedicated to innovation and experimentation in the field of the culture of agri-food excellence, which promotes the active participation of citizens and collaboration between the main actors in the supply chain to give life to cultural fruition with a strong digital orientation. The Open Laboratory welcomes realities such as the Higher Education School on Food and Nutrition, Giocampus and the Food Museums, thanks to which numerous activities have been and will be carried out, such as workshops for children, project presentations, training courses, tastings.

Some statues by Boudard have been temporarily placed inside the Cloister of the Fountain: they can be admired in the original version, from the Group of Silenus and Aegle, Venus, Apollo with zither, Satyr and Naiad.

Their presence, in the portico with the 26 late sixteenth-century lunettes, adds charm and beauty to a place that hosts libraries, educational moments, the Puppet Castle and one of the most significant museums regarding the Italian Renaissance. The vase with ram’s head handles is located in the twin courtyard of the Stuard Gallery.
