Built on the remains of an ancient oratory between 1629 and 1634 on a design by Gerolamo Rainaldi, the church gives its name to the street, or Borgo, where it is located.
Its baroque facade is the result of works carried out in 1782 by Antonio Brianti. The one nave interior has three chapels on each side. In the first one is set a Santa Cecilia by Paolo Ferrari and in the third one St.John the Baptist and Saints Francesco, Nicolò, Luigi and John of the Cross painted by Peroni in 1765.
In the presbitery are kept a 18th century reading desk and a beautiful candleholder made of gilt wood bearing the symbols of the four evangelists.
